The Paseo widens out at the top of the Carrera del Darro, with tables along the river and the Alhambra's walls and towers rising straight above on the far bank. Its name comes from the funeral processions that once passed along it on the way to the cemetery.
⭐ It is the best place in the city to sit and look up at the Alhambra from below, and the starting point for the climb to Sacromonte or up into the Albaicín.

Sit here before you walk up, not after. It is the last flat ground for a while.
