The Darro runs at the foot of the Alhambra hill, partly covered further down and open along here, crossed by small stone bridges. The street follows it with the Alhambra's walls rising directly above on one side.
⭐ It is the connector: the cathedral end of the city at one end, the Paseo de los Tristes and the way up to the Albaicín and Sacromonte at the other. Almost every good walk in Granada uses part of it.
The Bañuelo and several old houses open off it, so it is worth walking slowly rather than treating it as a route.
Our tip
Walk it at night. The Alhambra is lit above you and the street is quiet once the restaurants fill up.
