The fixed point
⭐ Everything in Granada is planned around the Nasrid Palaces slot, because it is the only thing on your itinerary with a time attached that you cannot change. Book it first and build the rest of the day outward from it.
Half a day
The cathedral and the Capilla Real, then the Carrera del Darro as far as the Paseo de los Tristes. No Alhambra — half a day is not enough for it and rushing it is worse than missing it.
One day
Alhambra in the morning slot, lunch in the centre, the Albaicín in the afternoon, the Mirador before sunset.
Two days
Day one as above. Day two: San Jerónimo, the Cartuja, the Bañuelo and Corral del Carbón, and Sacromonte in the evening.
Three or four days
Add the Huerta de San Vicente, and get out of the city — the Sierra Nevada is directly behind Granada and the Alpujarra villages are on its southern side. ⚠️ In winter the mountain is a ski resort and the road up is a different proposition.
